Huanyi Chen

I recently earned a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo under the supervision of Dr. Paul A.S. Ward. My research focuses on computer science and engineering education, focusing on developing data-driven models to understand learning processes and designing high-quality automated assessments that provide effective formative feedback to support learning.

I gained extensive teaching experience throughout his graduate studies. In 2021 and 2022, I taught Data Structures and Algorithms and Operating Systems at Conestoga College. I later served as a sessional instructor at the University of Waterloo, teaching Programming for Performance in 2023 and 2024.
